选Bessential 后引导的从句 that + (should) + 动词原形，排除A和D。从句中的主语是the amount of air pollution“大量的空气污染”被减少，被动，所以选B。

B It is essential that （should)+v原，所以选B,trust me!另外 the amount of 不是大量的意思a large amont of 表示大量的the amount of 表示什么的数量！

选b). be reduced。it is essential/ necessay 接that从句，that从句应使用should + 动词原形，should 可省略。此that从句中air pollution为主语，所以用reduce的被动语态，即(should )be reduced
