Jiang Wenwen and Jiang Tingting are twin sisters. They were born on September 25, 1986, in Chengdu, Sichuan province. They began taking swimming classes in 1995. Tingting jokingly described her first swim as a nightmare. “I didn’t dare to jump into the water, so my coach threw me in,” she said. But their swimming talent and slim figures soon drew the attention of a coach of the Sichuan water ballet team. He began training the girls, and they quickly learned about water ballet.
