Chemist
Reports to: Senior Chemist/Group Leader
Basic Function: A position which combines practical bench chemistry and
project co-ordination.
Thinking of tomorrow’s needs while delivering those of today is the crux of this role. You’ll improve standards of design and performance of inks and related fluids, spot problems, identify solutions and maintain standards to ensure that products are safe, viable and reliable.
With at least a degree in chemistry and a track record of delivering solutions to complex problems, you must be able to combine basic bench chemistry with project co-ordination.
· Significant creative contribution to improving standards of design and performance of inks and associated fluids for Domino printers.
· To use given techniques, procedures and methods to undertake chemical tasks/experiments.
· To identify problems, evaluate options and formulate solutions; taking cost, benefits, safety, quality, reliability, appearance and environmental impact into account.
· To assist in maintaining the standards set by the departmental manager, and ensuring that the development areas are kept clear and tidy.
· To participate as a member of the group and carry out any functions that are necessary in support of the Group Manager.
· To develop skills in the formulation of fluids for Domino Printers.
· To be able to communicate both orally and in writing in the production of technical reports and participation in technical reviews and liaison with suppliers / other Domino Groups.
· Show an enthusiasm to progress and a willingness to integrate into the Group.
· Ensure that the products are developed and maintained to be safe and reliable.
