Peace for the men, women and children in Israel and the Occupied Territories cannot be achieved while settlements are still being built in the West Bank. But the settlement freeze that started last year expires in three months -- before it's had a chance to really slow construction.
United States President Barack Obama meets with Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu on July 6. Help us tell President Obama to push to extend the settlement freeze ?
West Bank settlements are a political, security and economic liability for Israel. They drain Israel's treasury. They undermine faith in peace talks and complicate future border negotiations.
Moreover, most Israeli politicians today acknowledge that most settlements in the West Bank will have to be removed as part of a peace negotiation.
Tell Obama to push Netanyahu to extend the settlement freeze to achieve peace and security for Israel ?
