the reasons why English is spoken widely in the USA is a direct result of the settlement by some British people in 1620.Their ship is called the Mayflower and the aristocracy of America can trace their ancestry back to people who sailed on this voyage.Another American tradition also dears from this voyage. The settlers had had a hard journey and when they arrived they went down on their knees to thank god for their safe arrival.Since than this day has been celebrated each year as "Thanksgiving Day".
