If you see a middle school student sitting in a class at university, will you think it is strange? However, if you are a student at Shanghai Normal University (SNU), you will be used to it.
Since October, 2009, SNU has given an "open campus tour" to primary and middle school students every Friday. It helps them to learn about and prepare for higher education.
"Any primary and middle school student is welcome to visit our campus. We should help more people, especially young people, to understand university culture," said one of the leaders of SNU.
During the tour, the students can sit in classrooms and visit the library. Sometimes, they can also see a music show by the SNU Music School.
Primary and middle school students have many questions about university life. "Once a student asked me why we only have classes in the morning, while they have to go to school all day. I told him that it is one of the good points of going to university. I think this can encourage him to study hard to enjoy university life," said one student at SNU.
