All molding surfaces (cavities, cores, core pins, and submarine gate inserts) as well as other details such as slides, heal blocks, gibs, wedge blocks, etc., shall be tool steal hardness to a minimum of 48 Rockwell C scale. All components shall be permanently marked as to type of steel, hardness, identified for easy mold assembly. All by-pass shut-offs or any steel sliding surfaces shall be a minimum of 5 points Rockwell C scale hardness difference from the mating components (or of dissimilar metal).All shut-off angles shall be a minimum of 3 degrees if part design allows.
