To solve this problem, disable scmpack.dll by following these steps.
Note: Disabling scmpack.dll will cause any programs that depend on the codec to stop working or lose functionality.
Click the Start button , and then, in the Search box, type Command Prompt. From the list of results, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.
At the command prompt, type regsvr32 /u scmpack.dll, and then press ENTER. scmpack.dll is now unregistered.
What do I do if the regsrv32 command fails or returns an error?
If you followed the regsrv32 command steps to disable the scmpack.dll codec and the steps didn't work, you can try renaming the codec file to disable it.
Click the Start button , and then, in the Search box, type scmpack.dll.
In the list of search results, right-click scmpack.dll, and then click Open file location.
Right click scmpack.dll, and then click Rename.
Rename the file (for example, change the name to scmpack.dll.old). Remember the file name so you can enable it later if you need to.
