如果是说父母对孩子的宠爱直接的翻译可以这样写：would cradle somebody in one's mouth if only he/she wouldn't melt加上后半句“捧在手里怕摔了” cup it in her hand if it wouldn't be dropped意译的话：the apple of one's eyes 表示极为珍视，视为眼中的瞳仁
