1. a fish is dropped into the edge of an eight foot deep large cylindrical tank. the fish is a bit confused and swims 8 yards straight and runs into the tank. it then turns exactly 90 degress and swims straight for 6 yards and runs into the tank again. What is the volume of the tank in cubic feet ?
2.if a cup is 5 inches tall and holds 12 ounces how much liquid will a similar cup that is 9 inches tall hold?
3.in the circle sketch two triangles that are similar using A,B,C,D,E as vertices.
a.If DE=8,AE=4,and EB=6,then what is EC?
b.Will triangle drawn like this inside a circle always be similar?Explain.

第一题，看俯视图，先游8 yards，再转九十度，6 yards 1yard=3foot圆柱底面（2R）^2=8^2+6^2所以，底面半径为15foot圆柱容积就是V=πR^2h=1800π第二道题，5英寸高，承载12盎司，地面面积就认为是12/5那么，九英寸高，就有12/5*9=108/5盎司。第三题，就是几何计算，小偷懒一下，就是相交弦定理。参考摆到底下，知道定理，可以轻松算得EC=3而至于证明后面的三角形，下面的证明里也有。希望有帮助。

1.圆柱的直径：直角对应的是直径，于是勾股定理，得出d=10yards=30feet高：8yards。1码=3英尺（foot）v=1/4πd^2×h=1/4×30*30×24=5400cubic feet2.还是，圆柱体积。相同底面积体积与高成正比。答案：21.6ounces3.相似，圆中同一条弦对应的圆周角是都相等的。不会用英语
