more than当主语。谓语单复问题

more than +复数名词做主语，谓语用单还是复？
比如more than twenty years (has /have) gone by.
注意是more than不是more than one.

绝对是用单数.因为你用的主语是years.主语是时间要用第三人称单数.但别的名词就应用复数了.比如more than twenty students are...

应该考虑名词吧，比如more than twenty years has gone by. (表一段时间)比如more than ten apples were eaten. 也可能有的地方可通用
