英语语法问题

B.in which
C.of which
D.where
答案选的是C，想问下为什么不能选D，另外介词为什么要用of which而不用in which？

C.of which表从属关系，在这当中相当于of the airoxygen,water,vapor and carbon dioxide are the most important of the air 氧气……是空气的重要组成部分...
