despite the rapid development of networked devices,there are still a lot of americans that so far have not yet taken advantage of technologies such as the internet or cellphones,according to a new roport publishde by the pew internet &american life projet.almost half of the U.S population is estimated to have a distant or no relationship to modern information technology.
the report,which is based on responses from 4001respondents, finds that 85%of american adults are connected,by cellphone, th internet or both. this leaves 15 out of 100 americans off the network. according to the pew internet &american life project, this group consists mainly of older adults. most of them are in their mid-60s, nearly three-fifths are women, and they have low leves of income and education. although a few have computers or digital cameras, thes items sem to be about moving digital information within the household-for example, using the computer to display digital photos that they take or others physically bring into the house.
