He was not necessarily better than his disciples in every way, nor his disciples always inferior to him.
后半句，为什么不是“nor his disciples were always inferior to him”？为什么没有be动词？

这个常见的省略.因为前一句和后一句是并列的相似的结构.很常见的.there are three different boys . X is clever ,y strong and Z hansome....
