sitting 现在分词作后置定语,表示主动希望能帮到你，祝更上一层楼O(∩_∩)O有不会的欢迎再继续问我(*^__^*)...

The man sitting____ (sit) under the tree is waiting for me.sitting与主语theman是主动关系，故加ing，相当于一个定语从句the man who/ that is sitting under the tree...
