Hello all,
What I mentioned experience is that the whole bundle of your background. Only the knowledge in Oracle is not enough. The key issue is the work envioronment requires you to corperate with others, so we have to know how to work with system administrators, how to communicate with developers, as well as how to apply our knowledge in the specific business the employer is in. This is why nowadays a lot of employers don't want a beginner or a people who transfer from other lines, because they may need years of training to abtain the correlative industry experience. In the old days, they lacked of manpower in this field when the industry was in its hey days, so they opened the door for every one who had certain trainnings. Today, it is another story. For example, a lot of company only want to hire senior level developers, because they have bunch of choice.
To YYG, in terms of language skills, you are right, because my oral skills is still the biggest hindrance, because we need to communicate with each other very often. But I think as long as we keep practicing, we will feel more and more comfortable in speeking english. This is also why I always type english on this forum.
