linux security setting

我是一个新手. 刚安装了红帽 linux8.0
I was trying to low down the machine's security level from High to Low. But after I clicked the "OK" button, the new setup was not saved. So I can't use telnet or xwindow.
Your help is appreciated!

you better check the /etc/xinetd.d
check telnet.dcontent is it disable the telnet services?
Xwindows setting can use command"Xconfigurator"

Thanks for your suggest. I will check my setup file.
You know why I got this kind of trouble? RedHat provides the GUI to manage your security level. I used this one. The bad thing was I low down the security and clicked ok, and it never got save. Then I opened the GUI, it was still high. :-) I tried to get some support from redhat.com, not gain.
