Please look at this:
I login as an oracle dba group id to a unix box and tried to login using 2 ways below here as svrmgrl and sqlplus /nolog....see the difference !!!
$ sqlplus /nolog
SQL*Plus: Release 3.3.4.0.0 - Production on Mon May 19 18:39:22 2003
Copyright (c) Oracle Corporation 1979, 1996.All rights reserved.
SQL>
SQL> connect internal
Enter password:
vs~vs~vs~vs~vs~vs~vs~vs~vs~vs~vs~vs~vs~vs~vs
$ svrmgrl
Oracle Server Manager Release 2.3.4.0.0 - Production
Copyright (c) Oracle Corporation 1994, 1995. All rights reserved.
Oracle7 Server Release 7.3.4.4.0 - Production
With the distributed and parallel query options
PL/SQL Release 2.3.4.4.0 - Production
SVRMGR> connect internal
Connected.
SVRMGR> exit
Server Manager complete.
What makes these 2 logins so difference ?
What is the correct way to login to the database and can able to do a shutdown or something else which revelant ?

svrmgrl,connect internal,这是8i及以前使用的数据库建立、启动、关闭、修改等需要运行的程序。
sqlplus /nolog,connect / as sysdba,这是9i开始使用同样功能的方式。
换句话说,9i使用sqlplus /nolog,connect / as sysdba,代替了8i及以前的svrmgrl,connect internal的功能。
9i use "sqlplus /nolog, connect / as sysdba" instead of "svrmgrl, connect internal" that used in 8i and earlier.
