Our client is a famous American company in Health Care for more than 70 years. They focus on assisting people with some of the most complex conditions — for example, hemophilia, cancer, immune disorders and kidney disease.
Position:
Finance Project Manager- Cognos BI
Location:
Shanghai
Reporting Line:
Finance Manager, Financial Systems – Asia Pacific
Responsibilities:

Responsible for the quality and delivery of Cognos planning application system and Cognos BI Tools across Asia Pacific region, using assigned internal/external resources and following standards. Gather, understand and document business objectives, specifications, and requirements on small sized projects based on a solid understanding of business requirements. Analyze business needs, document requirements, build test scenarios and complete testing. Accountable for project goals, budget requirements and overall support activities needed to ensure a successful project implementation. Assist clients in identifying, understanding and responding to opportunities for cost-effective innovation and adherence to corporate policy.Manages activities of all internal/external resources on projects or service deliverables. May be accountable for one or more business systems, technologies and/or vendors.May be responsible for small number of direct reports.

Accountable for medium/large projects, demonstrate strong business acumen, demonstrate technical knowledge, require limited direction, give significant direction, handle complex problems, possess strong knowledge of project development processes and/or SDLC, have strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Manage / lead entire project or service as a key business lead / owner including active working with technical team on solution development, implementation, support and quality. Understand and direct/participate in all phases of project implementation on large projects.

Prioritize work and schedules.

Review project team deliverables to ensure quality (design walk-through, test results, etc.) and adherence to standards/ regulatory requirements.

Interact with customers to understand their business and to anticipate IT solutions / challenges based on business and technical knowledge. Working with technical leads to manage (educate and influence) the business project sponsor.

Participate in the budget process and accountable for project budget on small/medium size projects.

Provide direct supervision and mentoring of project team member’s during the project. Provide project performance feedback to the team member’s supervisor/manager.

Participate in the research, analysis, selection, and implementation of new tools, technologies and/or services.
Requirement
-
Bachelor degree in Finance & Accounting preferred or relevant work experience in systems or business. 8+ years experience in systems support/development applying systems solutions to business problems, of which a minimum of 3 years in a role of financial planning and management reporting. Experience in systems implementation. System testing, problem resolution, and training.

Strong knowledge of project development/implementation processes. Business acumen. Solid presentation skills, oral and written communication skills and teamwork skills. Strong influencing skills. Proven track record on delivering projects. Prudent risk taker. Leadership experience.

Self-starter with solid knowledge of the application development process.Strong communication skills (verbal/written/listening).Solid business knowledge. Sense of urgency with strong follow-up skills.Must be detailed oriented and able to work with in a team setting. Candidate must be capable of accurately preparing reconciliation schedules for documentation requirements. Demonstrates business knowledge. This job requires the ability to prioritize many simultaneous demands.

Strong command of the English language, both written and oral, is an essential and critical need. The successful candidate needs to possess the ability to communicate in a professional manner with all levels of management.

The qualified candidate will need to have the ability to meet deadlines as they are assigned. Position will interface with regional and local finance and IT teams. Position will act as the key bridge between business, finance and IT. The incumbent must possess solid understanding and practical work experience of Cognos planning applications and BI tools.

Meticulous and detail oriented individual with strong knowledge and is competent utilization of Cognos applications. Well-developed organization, analytical, interpersonal skills and good cross-functional communication skills are required. A history of increased responsibilities with demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment and highly matrixed organization, both independently and in a complex team organization. Good communication skills required with the ability to implement change and work with all levels of management.
