Technical Architect
Job Summary:
A Technical Architect drives the translation and construction of a client's complex business problems into innovative technology solutions within a multidisciplinary environment.
A Technical Architect owns the technical vision of the project; ensuring that the vision is achieved with a high level of quality. A Technical Architect is expected to contribute to the Sales cycle as well.
A Technical Architect must have excellent written and oral communication skills, creativity and innovation, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities:
?Utilizes their knowledge of and experience with eBusiness solution and deployment architectures. Applies their understanding of the limits of the tools being used and discusses the tradeoffs in the design phase vs. implementation. Recommends appropriate architecture based on client's business problem and drivers. Explains the tradeoffs involved in designing a solution to the client and the team.
?Utilizes their deep understanding of OO design principles in creating custom software solutions or modifying package solutions. Leverages their experience with component and service based design. Translates the impact of design on scalability, performance, etc. into the project. Drives client through "ilities" discussion.
?Leads a team of Company and client people in business and technical designs of the application. Manages dependencies across other modules.
?Translates the client’s business requirements into systems design. Challenges business design when appropriate. Offers creative alternatives regarding business design.
?Resolves complex technical issues. Provides mentoring on best practices and processes. Ensures quality based on experience.
?Balances the considerations of what it takes to deploy an application -- processes, procedures, organization, performance, etc. Works with the client on their tracks (planning, integration points, milestones).
?Works with the client's IT organization to establish technology strategy at an application level. Evaluates the current technical infrastructure and provides insights.
?Partners with the project manager and client to establish scope management process. Actively manages scope at the project level. Quickly evaluates the LOE, complexity and risk involved in adding a scope item
?Prepares pieces of sales proposals and portrays Company's technical expertise.
Job Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field requires;
* Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in enterprise architecture, systems integration, package implementation, and/or interactive design, and Architecture experience;
* Prior experience in a consulting firm preferred; Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage client accounts and multi-track Company teams;
* Understanding of the project life cycle process to effectively be able to manage a sub-team through the complexities of the business solution; Proven mentoring and coaching abilities to ensure effective growth plans of technology members of Company teams;
* Knowledge of multiple technologies including (but not limited to): J2EE, CGI, HTML, DHTML, XML, JavaScript, Java, Visual Basic, PL/SQL, Oracle Developer 2000 tools, C/C++, Perl, TCL, RDBMS, CORBA, COM/DCOM, Flash, and Shockwave
