Job description
Position Summary:
The Occupational Physician is responsible for providing occupational health services to IBM.
Services required include management consultation and advice on Occupational health issues, emergency medical response oversight, advice on clinical issues to staff, travel health advice, counsel on administration of IBM policies, programs and practices related to the health and safety of employees. The occupational physician also identifies emerging health issues at work and takes the lead role in coordinating complex health based projects at IBM locations.
The Occupational Physician assists in analyzing, evaluating, modifying and improving existing programs and procedures and assists with the development and implementation of new health and wellness programs and tools.
Duties / Responsibilities:
1. Provide occupational health services ensuring compliance with relevant country legislation.
2. Provide technical direction, advice and counsel in occupational health services
3. Supervise and ensure compliance with IBM medical emergency response programs.
4. Develop, implement and administer health and wellness programs and services in compliance with IBM GWBS and government regulations.
5. Performs medical case management according to IBM policy.
6. Works on special projects and provides leadership in developing and implementing occupational health strategies.
7. Ensure contracted healthcare providers provide quality and effective services.
8. Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
1. Requires a recognized university degree in Medicine.
2. Licensed or certified as required by country laws.
3. Fluent in speaking and writing English, CET-6 or equivalent as min.
4. Good computer skills
5. Requires at least 3 years of clinical medicine experience.
6. Articulate with good communication skills.
7. Program Management, Communication, Leadership, Negotiation, Policy Interpretation, Interpersonal Relations, Risk Taking.
