OBIE问题，关系型数据库可否用OBIEE工具做dashboard

哪位高手知道，关系型数据库能否在OBIE里面实现报表功能么？在business model里我已经做成雪花形结构，但是有时报warning: 数据源中有没直接连fact table的表。这样在answer里面数据就出不来，报错说要解决model中的问题。
另外，这个warning不时出现，只要出现就数据就不能再answer显示，但是有时就不出现。

没办法，使用的关系型数据库中有outerjoin,不得不用雪花。
不知道说清楚没有，大家发点意见阿

我的理解，不是你关系是雪花的原因，而是你模型设计的问题。逻辑表，物料表关系问题

model肯定需要好好检察。这类问题很难凭空描述;(

问题是这样的，如果说雪花形结构用在business model那个模块里的话，在逻辑连接时，肯定有一个表是fact表对吧，那么雪花的最末梢的那些表肯定没有直接连到这个中心的fact表对吧。这时候，如果check consistency的话，有时就会出现warning:说逻辑表中有数据源没有直接连到fact。这是很显然的，雪花形结构当然会有很多表没有直接连fact table而是通过其他表来连到fact，所以才说像雪花一样嘛。关键是为何如此不稳定，为什么warning有时会报有时不报，一旦报的话，数据在answer里就无法显示了。
如果这样的话，OBIEE岂不是远不如brio ，因为brio任何数据结构都能搞定

hehe,it's not about the tools, just your concept...
BIEE have three layer. the different layer have the different function. In physical layer, you can build the relationship what you want except you should avoid the loop join. In BMM layer, you should make sure BMM layer just have the star model. please combine the snowflake dimention table to one dimention table in BMM layer. You can build the dimention base on combined dimention table. it make sense to get the snowflake relationship.

I agree with you, to make the snowflakers change into start mode. but how about the data source? I mean although they can be in a same table, columns coming from different sources, to put them all in a dimention table. but for the data source, they are not directly link to the fact table in physical layer. so that's why it always have the warning that 'in which table, there is data source not directly link to any fact table' in BMM layer.

since I'm busy in my project. I'm sorry for late reply.
I assume that your concern is how to combine snawflake table to one dimention table in BMM layer. please correct me if I'm wrong.
there have two point:
1. don't change physical table
2. In BMM layer, you can build star mode first, for example:
physical layer: dimtable2----->dimtable1------->facttable1
you can build dimtable1-------->facttable1 in BMM layer, then, you drop and down dimtable2 to dimtable1's source in BMM layer. please make sure the column mapping is right.
this is simple sample, I know there have complex relationship in actual project, but I hope it can help you to think out solution.

我记得BIEE 官方文档中提到，暂时还不支持雪花型，仅仅支持星形，以我们目前的开发例子来说，全部都是以星形的逻辑结构来解决的问题。这一点和BO应该是有差别，BO是所有的结构都可以搞定的。

目前是如此，不过BIEE可以将雪花模型转换成星型模型，也许这个也是BIEE的解决方案吧-

即使如此，我仍然相信BIEE将会成为很重要的BI产品，期待BIEE 11G版本-

hehe 是的，好像有个桥接表的方式吧，没有做过试验，也没有时间做过试验，hoho
BIEE的开发周期个人觉得还是非常快的，很多功能封装成函数的形式，很方便。不过不足也是显而易见的，前端Dashbord的可调节性不如BO（个人意见，嘻嘻），不过个人还是非常喜欢BIEE..^_^
