Duties and Responsibilities:This role will have the following responsibilities:· Acting as the primary network technical resource supporting the region.· Assisting the region with network standardization and implementation.oProgramming switches, wireless networks, routers and related gear in conjunction with the Avnet network team standardsoWorking with network providers to select and implement appropriate services such as WAN and Internet connectivityoDocumenting existing network architecture and components, and making recommendations for enhancement based on existing Avnet standardsoWorking with the US team on large-scale network deployments, such as the Asia WAN replacement· Providing oversight and support on complex network issues.· Acting as the primary liaison between the APAC IT and the US based, Insight network team.Providing support during Asia business hours.· Escalating issues to US network management team · Providing reports on performance metrics such as availability, ticket escalation and resolution· Participating in the failure analysis process, representing network issues in the APAC region.· Participating in the change control process, representing planned changes to the network in the APAC region.Engineering focus: Consults with company outsourcing vendor to implement standards in WAN/LAN/WLAN network hardware/software configurationPerforms broad, moderately complex assignments within a network environment that requires originality and ingenuity Performs data/voice troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems Works with company hardware/software manufacturer/OEM support groups to resolve complex problems.Investigates root cause of chronic or recurring network problems and recommends long-term solutions.Evaluates upcoming vendor-implemented changes for feasibility and business impactValidates vendor-implemented changes have produced expected resultsInstalls, configures, tests, and troubleshoots network hardware and software Gathers statistics on performance, capacity, and availability
