(2)在重读闭音节中，辅音加元音的单词中，双写辅音字母，然后加-er,例如：hot-hotter,big-bigger. (3)有些以-y结尾的双音节形容词，如果-y前面是一个辅音字母，变比较级的时候就要把-y变成-I，然后再加-er.例如：pretty-prettier. (4)在多音节当中，用more+形容词原形.
