The modification work at the jetty consists of the construction of a new jetty wall and concrete deck between the existing Berthing Dolphin Y and Berthing Dolphin Z.
Construction of the new concrete deck require installation of two rows of steel box piles and sheet piles between the two existing dolphins. Piles will be driven down to a founding toe level of 16 metres below mean sea level. Crushed rock will be placed and grouted between the two pile rows to form a solid core to the new jetty.
A reinforced concrete deck will be constructed at the same level as the existing jetty head.
