sys table monitoring

Hi ,
Any one collect statistics on sys table in 9i?
Any one turn on the table monitoring for sys tables in 9i ?
in 10g , appears to when the statistics_level set to typical ( default value) , the sys table monitoring is turned on .

好像9i文档没有说明是否收集!
asktom上曾有人问,9i中对sys table 并不collect statistics!!!

I have this question from the application team. the enviornement is 9.2.0.4 on HP B11. 11 .
it looks maybe it is helpful, since the application has thousands of table.
but I don't know the exact answer, so just ask here.

Do not collect statistics for tables under sys schema, seems some bug, some one set the monitor flag for sys tables, and crashed the whole database.

很多tuning的書上提及collect　statistics是不包括　sys and system兩個系統schema因為可能會存在一些bug導致hang住等異常的發生

I know this , but I think that is old version.(?)
the version I am looking at is 9.2.0.4 and 9.2.0.6.
In fact , as I said, in 10.1.0.2 , the default setting is collecting stats on sys tables.
so something must have changed now.

Oracle said on 10g, you can collect statistics for sys tables, some one crashed 9.2.x database by setting monitor flag for sys indexes by mistake. I think they used oracle 9.2.0.4, maybe 9206.

no, in this case we just consider tables owned by sys , not index.
so that is not revelant I think.
