Creatingdatabase link from 8i database to 9.2.0(AL32UTF8 characterset)

Problem:

After creating a database link from 8i database to 9i, selecting data across
the database link yields the following errors:
SQL execution error, ORA-02068: following severe error from
ORA-24365: error in character conversion
Fact:
The characterset of the 9i database is -- NLS_CHARACTERSET AL32UTF8
Fix:
====
This issue is Bug 2360739and occurs when the 9i database characterset is
AL32UTF8 which is the default at creation time
There is a patch availablefor this Bug on 8.1.7.4 patchset for most of the
affected platforms.
Workaround:
===========
The workaround is to use the UTF8 characterset on the 9i database.
